Vivien Haley began her career in sculpture and printmaking during the 70s and has had a long and impressive career exploring her distinctive style of block printing and dying silks. Today, excited by the prospect of re-establishing her unique textiles, Haley has worked with the digital printing pioneers at Think Positive to realise her visual language in unexpected ways. With the shift in scale and complexity of technology, the result is a striking and elegant range of digitally printed scarves.
The Natura collection endeavours to capture the beauty, colour and complexity of the natural world informed by a passion for collecting, printing and collage. Vivien Haley has worked to create a collection that encapsulates the elegance and refinement of original hand printed silk with a combination of design, layers of texture and subtle colour palette.
In a world where the natural environment is being challenged and more people live in cities than ever before, contact with the natural world brings a sense of place and beauty into our busy lives. Haley hopes that these scarves will enable the wearer to become wrapped in a small part of that beauty.
Over the past decade, Vivien Haley has also exhibited as an artist with Stella Downer Fine Art Gallery and run her own furniture and interiors business called Ehko on the South Coast of Australia.
