Berlin based fashion label Case Studies Laura Krauthausen and Konstantin Laschkow presents its first project of its kind “Nletschin.” An intensive engagement with shadings of color led to a series of knitted jacqaurds with vibrant, complex surfaces featuring informal spheres, plastic formations and floral and folkloristic elements. Ornamental quotations appear fragmentarily leaving indistinct shadowlike traces and geometric forms create sculptural effects. Both are either spontaneously positioned or accurately placed on specific body parts. The blend of colors finds correlation in the use of different materials. The knitted surfaces change gradually in texture: from a classic woolen touch – soft, warm and matte – through furry velvety moments to a shiny technical grip. The result: volume and textile behaviour that is atypical of knit. All knits have been developed and realized in the tranquility of Letschin, a village in a remote region called Oderbruch. this place gave the freedom to create a refined product that is available for longer than just a season.
