Fall brings the second installment of AG’s successful collaboration with British style icon Alexa Chung, and the season’s increased selection evolves beyond the denim focus that defined the Alexa Chung for AG debut.

Inspired by an imaginary—and impeccably dressed—girl gang kicking up dust in the desert, the new collection boasts an expanded variety of separates in elevated materials, perfect for building the day- to-night wardrobe. “It’s an evolution”, says Chung of the AW15 collection. “The first collection was very focused and stripped back, I challenged myself to create an essential denim wardrobe. With the second collection it was more about exploring where else we could take it.” Texture variety is key, with rich suede and sumptuous corduroy in the mix with denim, chambray, and broken twill.

Tops range from slightly tomboyish to sophisticated and feminine. Graphic tees and french-terry sweatshirts are effortless options for daytime wear. Sweaters come in both fitted and relaxed silhouettes, offered in pure wool, luxe merino and cashmere, and a lightweight ribbed wool blend. A pindot pattern and petite daisy print bring a refined whimsy to the silk construction of the Gordonderry high-neck blouse and Dottie button-down shirt. “This truly is a proper ready-to-wear collection”, says AG President, Sam Ku. “The collection is elevated yet still accessible, and is quintessential Alexa, while still embodying the AG brand.”

The bottoms lineup presents an array of silhouettes—skirts in A-line and mid lengths, high-rise jeans in straight and skinny fits, retro-tinged suede shorts with an elevated waistline and lace-up detailing. The Revolution cropped flare is back in nonstretch twill and fall-ready supima corduroy. The overall, one of Alexa’s wardrobe staples, also returns, refreshed for the season in soft-touch black corduroy. Outerwear is a new addition to the collaboration. The vintage-inspired Walker coat makes a statement in black suede with contrast embroidery at the neckline and sleeves. Meanwhile, the Hitt shrunken jacket makes the ideal casual layer in hardy broken twill that promises to look even better with everyday wear.

The collection will be available at Avenue32.
