Clear, understated lines, loose flowing fabrics and the play with voluminous wrapping techniques create a look, which evokes the modern nomad – Label NOBI TALAI combines Persian traditions and modern design in a high-fashion collection. Loose-fitting long blouses with stiff standing collars and airy cascading sleeves. Lavishly cut, flowing pants with playfully varying widths. Voluminous poncho coats dominated by open shawl collars. Elaborate wrap dresses, lavishly draped and captivating in their own way.
The summer collection by Berlin-based label NOBI TALAI is shaped by a thrilling duality. It is inspired by the garments of Persian nomads on one side and characterized on the other side by a practicality, which unites enwrapped silhouettes, minimalist looks and sculptural wrapping and layering techniques. Clean, cool, contemporary. The purist aesthetic interprets traditional elements of Near East culture in a contemporary and modern way and creates a style with a particularly sober aura. Sophisticated, worldly fashion, which evokes understatement rather than globetrotting fits in seamlessly with every wardrobe around the world. Soft white, light cream, calm greige and fine midnight blue – monochrome looks which radiate serenity and tranquility. Light crêpe de chine silk fabrics and smooth velour emphasize the distinctive architectural style. The self-designed pattern prints are inspired by Persian felt rugs, while high-quality, handmade designs reference traditional tailoring. Draped wrapping techniques run through the entire collection like a common thread. Skirt and pant widths can be adapted depending on the personal size – this is perfect for establishing an individual look.
Despite their experimental character, the models appear feminine and classic, yet uncomplicated and strong. Dresses, boleros, palazzo pants, capes – special everyday outfits, which are always in fashion and never become irrelevant. Beautiful, figure-flattering favorites, which always make you feel well-dressed. Exceptional trend pieces, which will remain relevant for many seasons to come. The designs carry the handwriting of Berlin-based designer Nobieh Talaei. Born and raised in Teheran, Iran, Talaei discovered her passion for fabrics and textiles already in her childhood. Nobieh Talaei studied fashion design at ESMOD, Berlin, and gathered international retail experience at several prestige brands before setting up her own business and launching her first own collection in 2015. The 2016 summer collection’s exceptional prints were created in collaboration with the renowned textile artist Philipp Rupp.
