A man with a shamisen, an old Japanese musical instrument, creating the most hypnotizing and inspiring music. Old instrument played with a totally new modern twist. So simple, but so powerful and gripping. On the other hand Spanish Rocky Mountains, hot sand on beautiful beaches and blue skies. This is the inspiration for Finland based fashion label Whitetail‘s Spring / Summer 2016 collection. In the new collection you can recognize the elements and silhouettes from Japanese culture. Interpretations of kimonos, warriors robes, but also minimalistic elements from Japanese interior design. From Spain, designer Margit Peura took the cuts of the mountaintops and the warmth of the sand. In the fabrics you can sense the hardness of the rock combined to the softness of the sand. The silhouettes and cuts continue to be simple and clear still trying to create a point of surprise for the viewer. Rare and luxurious organic meets with organic wild silk. Dark blue combined to natural white and grey keep the color palette Nordic and calm. This is the core of Whitetail SS16.
