Continuing the HLZBLZ 10 Year Anniversary Retrospective is the NYLON x HLZBLZ collaboration capsule ‘Hong Kong Garden.’ In celebration of the birth of HLZBLZ ten years ago and in conjunction with brands and artists considered to be friends and family, the collection is both an acknowledgment of the past and a glimpse of the future.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic song ‘Hong Kong Garden’ by Siouxsie and the Banshees, this capsule pays homage to post-punk and new wave roots reimagined in contemporary context and unisex aesthetics.
The capsule features fleece silhouettes with subtle plays in cuts and details while maintaining a strong graphic language that built the basis for the HLZBLZ brand. However, the down-filled kimono jacket and slouch fit tapered trousers dressed in reclaimed World War II sleeping bag twill definitely steal the show.
With both brands being products of New York culture, highlighted by shades of London and Los Angeles influences, it comes as no surprise that Hong Kong Garden’ screams straightforward sophistication.
