Founded in 2013 in Milan, Farewell is a brand focused on avant-garde footwear. The collections are unisex original items coming out from a mix of hiking world, relaxed espadrilles and urbanwear. It’s an experiment on sole shapes, functions and materials outside the rules, a contemporary twist on classics and traditional craftsmanship. Farewell is to say goodbye to boredom, to blend different worlds a new one. Designed and made in Italy.
Born as a “Made in Spain” project in the espadrilles district of Alicante, Farewell Footwear designed its latest collection Fall / Winter 2016 Collection with a brand new “Made in Italy” identity. The concept of espadrillas evolves using technical partners for both elements: the wrapping ropes and the soles. Thanks to the partnership with an historical French rope manufacturer focused on innovation of weaving techniques, the new ropes have a unique custom designs inspired by climbing ones. All soles of the collection are exclusively branded Vibram and selected to be light, high performance, and flexible.
Farewell Footwear enters a new world and a new era. The “Parasite Planet” Fall / Winter 2016 collection makes history by being for its first time “Made In Italy”, moreover, sees a technical upgrade thanks to the collaboration with Vibram, the Italian excellence rubber sole maker. Hiking hybrid espadrilles soles are wrapped with empty polypropylene climbing ropes in multicolor and military; the unisex uppers match both the mountaineering outdoor and homey relaxed mood. Heels are big ropes themselves, astronaut wool socks and laced up ankle boots define, together with the metallic heeled elastic skinny black boots, the new women’s items. The newborn “weekend” side of the collection is built on a Vibram Vi-lite® compound commando sole, ultimate in lightness and durability. A saw toothed welt gives a bolder look to the college british fancy uppers, like laced up loafers, mary janes and chelsea boots. All are equipped with a special survivor accessory, like paracord laces, backpack nylon buckles and cartridge straps.
