Cleobella, known for its refined, handcrafted bohemian designs, launches an exclusive collaboration with American singer-songwriter, Zella Day.
Music and fashion come together in this beautiful collaboration. The 9-piece capsule collection perfectly blends Cleobella’s laidback luxe aesthetic with Day’s free-spirited style; which can also be seen in Day’s music, a mix of modern pop with a touch of Western Bohemian flair.
Comprised of dresses, skirts, a jumpsuit, jacket and bucket bag, in neutral hues of black, white, ivory and espresso, the collection has been carefully crafted to reflect Day’s musical expressions and features choice fabrics, such as suede, and Cleobella’s signature embroidery and crochet. Model-to-watch, Quinn Lake, was chosen to star in the campaign which was shot in Sedona, Arizona, the same state in which Day grew up.
The collaboration between the two was a natural fit, given Angela and Zella have known each other for years. Having met in Sunset Beach, California, also home to Cleobella’s flagship store, the two found an instant connection. “Zella and I met three years ago and have been friends and supporters of one another’s art since,” says Angela O’Brien, Owner and Creative Director, Cleobella. “We have often talked about joining forces in some way and this collection is the realization of that. Fashion and music have always gone hand in hand and Zella’s personal style really speaks to the Cleobella girl. It’s the perfect fit and we’re delighted with how the collection has turned out.”
Now, three years later, the two have created the “Cleobella x Zella Day” clothing line. “This collaboration is proof that believing in something pays off,” Day remarks, “keep dreaming and keep creating with people that you believe in.”
“As I’ve grown as a musician I’ve also grown as a visual artist by being the creative director of my own brand,” says Day. “I have learned that the skin that I choose is the skin I’ve created to tell my story through certain colors, cuts, and shimmers. It speaks for me when the people watching my shows are wondering who I am. I want my message to be clear through my clothing as it is in my music of true self expression uninhibited by social pressure. My clothing has grown with my music and in turn become one entity, it has become the skin of the artist I’m striving to be.”
