Established in 1987 by designer Hiroyuki Sasaki, Tokyo based innovative fashion label TOMORROWLAND presents its Fall/Winter 2016 women’s collection, a collection of fresh, effortless pieces with a modern Japanese sensibility.
In keeping with the brand’s signature look of casual elegance, unstructured silhouettes and clean lines shine throughout the collection. Colors are sophisticated, ranging from neutrals and subdued shades, to rich autumnal tones of gray, khaki, navy and pink. Pops of neon bring an unexpected playful element, while plaids and stripes are eye-catching yet wearable. Pieces can be worn alone or easily layered for an easy yet refined look.
Knits are where the brand truly prevails and this season is no different. The collection offers an array of styles from classic chunky hand-knits and refined cashmeres, to standout metallic and color blocked knits. Playful knit pieces, such as hot pants and overalls, showcase the more whimsical side to the brand.
Staying true to TOMORROWLAND’s values, the collection uses high quality Japanese and European fabrics throughout, as well as unique fabrics and textures which have been created exclusively for the brand by the skilled craftsmen they collaborate with in Japan and Italy.
Standout items this season include fur-lined capes, faux-suede pleated skirts and elegant wool coats which will take wearers well beyond the season to become perennial wardrobe favorites.
