The always rebellious Takara Wong label, has pumped up the volume with its latest rough and rowdy creations. Cranking up the notch on bold graphics, statement text, and all things punk rock, this latest collection of styles draws inspiration from Tokyo’s illegal underground racing culture. Black and bold elements are often laden with suggestions of classic work wear and sportswear. But don’t be surprised to see intricate unexpected details like embroidery techniques, netting, and polyester suede. Designer Thakorn Wannawong places a fluorescent biker jacket crafted from leather front and center of his cool collection, while other daring styles include glow-in-the-dark plaid trench coats, plastic bucket hats, and baggy jeans.
