Equihua is a brand started by former Parsons Design School graduate, Brenda Equihua. The brand that Equihua has cultivated is not only fashion that’s gaining attention within the industry, it’s also fashion that’s inclusive and celebrates individuality, which is something we can most definitely appreciate. In this specific collection, the designer was inspired by Mexican covijas, which is essentially a large blanket that is found in almost every Mexican home. She has taken this standard Mexican home item and combined it with American outerwear to give us a fresh approach to the mixing of cultures. Because truly, when we all gather inspiration from each other, that’s when real genius and creativity comes out. This collection exemplifies that.
