Always striving to design collections that question typical fashion conventions, Rena Jansen is a dutch fashion designer who just released her latest collection, “Ado Less Sense.” This collection was inspired by Jansen’s desire to uncover the motivations behind her behavior as a young girl. More specifically, this collection questions the motivations behind why a young girl might want to remain a child, and not grow up. You see this play out very clearly with the design choices used throughout, which was all styled by Jansen herself. You’ll see that there are no pieces that are particularly sexualized or flattering to the female form. Instead, we have model, Rosa Mol, in a series of oversized t-shirts, pastel pinks, and quirky prints. Even the hair and makeup done by Sophie Theenaart stays true to this childlike theme. The hair is unruly and curly, and the makeup overdone and pink, just like the way an inexperienced child might do her own makeup. Get your eyes on this collection for a little flashback to childhood.
