Inspired by the movie, “Wings of Desire,” this FW18 collection from Ganni serves up all things ethereal and contemporary. Creative director and designer, Ditte Refstrup, loved the idea of angels being located all over her city of Copenhagen, so she took this idea and ran with it. She dressed model, Frederikke Sofie, in silk-wool trousers, flowing dresses, and beautifully designed woolen overcoats, which all have that ethereal and whimsical feel about it. However, the pieces are still meant to be very contemporary and modern. They don’t have that vintage aesthetic that might come to mind when we think ethereal and romantic. Instead, this ethereal aesthetic is achieved by way of pieces that move seamlessly with the body to give off that effortlessly wearable feel that we all know and love so much. So, if the sound of laser cut flowers, pearls, white silk, and snakeskin embossed calf leather sounds interesting to you, you’ll want to get your eyes on this “Angels” campaign from Ganni ASAP.
