Based out of London, Wen Pan was launched in 2018 to rave reviews. Emphasizing texture, layers, and deconstructed pieces, this brand is all about showing off “quietness in chaos,” and “confidence in imperfection.” In other words, there’s elements of the pieces that are soft and feminine, but there’s also elements that have a more raw and deconstructed feel. For example, let’s take a look at the Spring/Summer ‘ 19 collection. In this collection, you’ll find a relatively neutral palette. There’s ivory, light-blue plaid, and yellow florals present, and while that color palette might sound feminine and romantic, the styles themselves have a more raw edge. Take, for example, all the ripped elements used throughout. On numerous styles, you’ll find the pieces have been “ripped” to give that raw feel. In fact, as mentioned, deconstruction is a major element used throughout. For example, coats will combine multiple fabrics, almost giving off the look of patchwork.
