New Balance and streetwear brand, Aime Leon Dore, have had quite the history. With previous sneaker collabs and the announcement that Teddy Santis, founder of Aime Leon Dore, would spearhead the sportswear brand’s in-house line, the two are practically symbiotic. After a year of patience, Teddy’s New Balance collection has finally arrived and we’re sharing everything you need to know below.
Entitled “MADE IN USA,” Teddy’s designs are a hypebeast dream. It reimagines the classic 990 silhouette in honor of the style’s 40th anniversary. Specifically, the 990V1, 990V2, and 990V3 have all received the Teddy Santis touch. The limited-edition collection will drop new versions of the 990 sneaker every month – an important detail to note if you are aiming on securing a pair of your own.
In addition to the sneakers, the Teddy Santis’ MADE IN USA collection will include coordinating, unisex apparel that consists of sweatsuit separates, baggy shorts, t-shirts, and more. From sneakers to apparel, Teddy incorporated three color and design categories: Legacy, Quickstrike, and Uniform Staple, which highlight a mix of seasonal hues, like vibrant orange, along with New Balance’s signature gray.
CMO and Senior VP of Merchandising, Chris Davis, shares how New Balance has always been “drawn to non-traditional and independent creators”, which makes Teddy Santis the perfect fit for an endeavor like this. Price points for the New Balance collection will start at $65 for apparel while the limited-edition 990 sneakers will start at $199.99.
You can cop the Teddy Santis New Balance collection starting Thursday, April 28 on NewBalance.com, as well as select global retailers.
