On Tuesday, April 5, Calvin Klein and skatewear brand, Palace, took to Instagram to announce a joint collection dubbed “CK1 Palace”. The duo has gone so far as to say that it is a love letter between the two cities in which they are based, New York and London, respectively. The announcement was coupled with a campaign featuring Lourdes “Lola” Leon, Precious Lee, Willem Dafoe, Dame Joan Collins, the Pet Shop Boys, and the Palace Skate Family.
Calvin Klein and Palace is a minimal streetwear dream come true. The launch is set to release classic logo-adorned underwear sets, as well as fleece-lined underwear. As far as the clothing, expect to see 90’s-inspired baggy denim, oversized t-shirts, and basketball jerseys. Perhaps most notably, the “CK1 Palace” collab will debut a new rendition of the CK1 fragrance in partnership with Palace that features additional touches of mandarin, oak moss, and violet. Palace also enlisted Vans and they will be releasing a limited edition design of “Calvans”, which will feature the “CK1 Palace” logo repeated on a slip-on. Sizes and prices for the collection have yet to be released.
Lev Tanju, founder of Palace, remarks that he’s always admired the aesthetic and clean simplicity that Calvin Klein has to offer – and deemed it “so visually impactful”. From the first call, he said the two brands worked together symbiotically and he’s so proud of everything they were able to create.
