Anime and fashion have a recent history of joining forces for killer collaborations. With partnerships such as Gucci x Doraemon and Loewe x Studio Ghibli being huge successes in the recent past, it is no surprise that there would be more to come. And as of April 14th, we know that next in line is French label, Maje.
Maje just announced that their latest collaboration will feature none other than Sailor Moon. As you can surmise, the limited edition series of clothing features an onslaught of kawaii colors and to-die-for graphics inspired by the classic show from the 90’s. The capsule collection is a grand total of 19 pieces that features the show’s protagonist, Sailor Moon, herself. Conjuring up feelings of girl power, the collection incorporates themes of love, courage, and femininity into every piece. The clothing itself is a mix of tees and sweatshirt sets with characters from the show plastered allover, as well as bucket hats. There are even denim separates with fun prints and matching corduroy sets. Key colors are inspired directly from the show’s art and include heavy uses of baby pink, white, and yellow.
Maje x Sailor Moon is a wonderful tribute to the anime that sparked inspiration for girls worldwide. The pieces even feature an original monogram symbol that skillfully combines Maje’s signature clover motif with the outline of Sailor Moon.
