The biggest fashion collaboration of the year has come to fruition and the secondary release is just around the corner. Yeezy Gap announced back in January that its newest collection would be engineered by Balenciaga’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia. We finally have more details on what you can expect and how you can prep for the most hyped drop of the year.
Ye (formally known as Kanye) has been long time friends with Demna. In fact, back in 2015, Ye had enlisted the creative director for his help with Yeezy Season 1. During the same year, Ye remarked in a Vanity Fair interview that he divulged to Demna how he visualized Gap differently from everyone else. Fast forward to today and the long awaited collection entitled, Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga is here.
Ye and Demna released a preliminary drop back in February to coincide with the release of the album, Donda 2. The capsule collection consisted of eight styles, which included logo t-shirts and a padded denim jacket. This past Sunday, May 8, the music video for “Life of the Party” showcased hints of the upcoming pieces from Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga via edited photos from Ye’s childhood. Expect to see sleek jackets, oversized hoodies, and more in Ye’s signature dark colorways. Tap into some of the stills and the music video below.
The next release is expected to drop on Wednesday, May 25 at 9 am. Fans can purchase it on YeezyGap.com, as well as retailers, like Farfetch, Mytheresa and LuisViaRoma. Be sure to set your calendar reminders so you don’t miss a beat!
