Inspired by industrial and architecture design, Red September offers you a fresh look at familiar things. The brand was founded by designer Olga Vasyukova. Olga works in several fields: design, illustration, production, and photo shoots. The designer has a diploma from the Fashion Design department at Polimoda and her first showcases in Florence. She works on the concept behind each collection by focusing on a mix of forgotten, old school aesthetics and a single theme in modern art. Olga works with leather, denim, nylon, cotton and various other fabric combinations, including fabric from ready-made clothes. She is not afraid of taking bold steps in her work: she paints, burns, buries fabrics in the ground. In her collections, there are trench coats and leather jackets resembling Tetra pack milk packs, which have become the brand’s trademark.

While you want to break free and take on life’s challenges to prove yourself, you also want to find yourself as part of a community with common ideals. The latest collection from Red September is the first part of a trilogy celebrating outsiders. Real people who are not necessarily well known but find themselves struggling with the pressures of society as they also try to create things that matter, disrupt society’s rules and express themselves while doing so. Belonging becomes not only a rule but a necessity to exist in today’s society. This collection raises several philosophical questions. Is it worth it to follow your desires only to be excluded from society? What is the right path to get where you want to? Is rebellion worth it? And most of all, are society’s values our own?
