Throwing away the idea of exclusivity in the fashion industry, Indice Studio sure knows how to push boundaries. In particular, with their recent Autumn/Winter collection for 2018, in direct response to the traditional top-down system we frequently see in the fashion industry, Indice demonstrates that fashion has become much more democratized in our modern society. They did this by placing logos of high end fashion brands on their designs, which is something most brands would never even consider trying. And yes, you’re right to question the legality of this, because it is, in fact, not in compliance with trademark law. However, Indice will not actually be directly selling the logo pieces to the consumer. In order to get the logo pieces, customers will have to speak directly with the shops in order to request what items they stock. So yes, with a slogan like, “good artists copy, great artists steal,” there’s certainly no denying this brand knows what’s up when it comes to stirring up some trouble. What do you think of what Indice is doing?
