HAI SWIM’s FW18 collection, “TIME SERIES,” introduces the brand’s first complete ready-to-wear line of streetwear-inspired clothing. The collection exists at the junction of two ephemeral elements, fashion and time; “TIME SERIES” is the story of their combination, and through that, the creation of art that eternalizes them both. Each piece’s label is imprinted with its unique timestamp, a nod to the exact time that the piece became an idea in the mind of founder and designer Marcelle Barbosa. Together, the collection’s pieces and their boldly-displayed timestamps chronicle Barbosa’s creative process, concretizing another fleeing element onto the clothing itself.
“TIME SERIES” also features redone, tapered and relaxed-fit, denim, spotlighting HAI’s innovative tailoring. Equally experimental is HAI SWIM‘s exploration of silhouettes—from minimal to oversize—and mediums, ranging from classic denim and cotton fabrics to metals, raw paint, and printed reconfigured digital images. “TIME SERIES” is the second iteration of HAI SWIM’s vision of a place where swimwear, streetwear, and art meet.
