chameleonic
bio mimicry
clothes that imitate nature
but nature is too complicated
all things evolve from each other

textures, sounds, scents, sensations
that traverse time

power of intuition
art of the handmade

the eye has to travel
telling stories through objects that
create emotions

Sensory working process
contours of the body = our borders of physical space

what lies below and beneath the skin?

we are all part of opur bodies and yet do not really know or understand them
yet, there is a level of devotion, to the craft, the process of doing, devotion to health,
devotion to feeling and we all make choices and are commited to them

synchronized with nature, the clothes reveal its poetic quality and sensibility

Studio Markovic is on a mission to create clothes that will last a lifetime. “I describe them as clothes that get better with age, just like fine wine”, says Mihaela Markovic, founder and creative director. Commitment to longevity, creating high quality items that are meant to outlive us is one of the main pillars of the brand.

The design process is playfully organic and starts with an exciting combination of materials and colours, without the feeling that the final shape has to be predefined. Restriction does not live here.

Studio Markovic’s approach to “slow fashion” and the desire to bring customers a new way of thinking about their clothes, actions and decision making in general, has clearly resonated and today Mihaela works on collaborations with bigger brands and creates bespoke pieces for private clients.

All fabrics – whether lambswool, merino or silk – come from certified and sustainable sources. In addition, each item is personally signed by the knitter who created it, ensuring that its ultimate owner, wherever they may be, has a better understanding of the time and the commitment woven into their individual garment.

To make Studio Markovic’s garments as functional and long-lasting as possible, the clothing created almost needs its own “Instructions to use”. Almost all cardigans can be turned upside down and worn both ways. A skirt, for example, can easily be turned into a jumper, an added bonus to all those modern nomads that like to travel lightly. If you have this one piece that’s comfortable and looks fantastic, you’ll want to wear it always.
