H&M Announces New Designer Collab With Mugler

Affordable fashion powerhouse, H&M, has some remarkable designer collaborations under its belt. Their partnership resume includes the industry’s most desirable brands, like Karl Lagerfeld, Balmain, Versace, Kenzo, and Moschino. On Wednesday, February 22, the Swedish brand announced its latest designer collaboration with Mugler as part of its Spring 2023 release.

In case you missed it, the reintroduction of H&M designer collaborations was actually teased by fashion writer @brendahashtag on Twitter back in early January. Now, with the news officially out in the open, fans are speculating what the collection will actually look like.

For now, it seems like the internet is divided on the H&M x Mugler announcement. On one hand, it does contribute to the bridging of the gap between high-end and mainstream markets to make designer labels more accessible to all. On the other hand, fans are worried that Mugler’s intricate designs would be hard to replicate at a lower price point. One Twitter user even speculated that the H&M x Mugler collection could potentially look like a collaboration with the controversial brand, Fashion Nova.

Regardless of your opinion, it is clear that the designer label is looking to branch out to new customer bases at a lower price point. We await to hear additional announcements on the H&M x Mugler partnership. In the meantime, fans of fashion can now visit the “Thierry Mugler: Couturissime” exhibit in the Brooklyn Museum from now until May 7.
