Balenciaga’s Le City bag was initially introduced in 2001 and quickly gained popularity for its unique features and distinctive aesthetic. The bag’s design includes small metal buckles on the corners for reinforcement, thimble-like studs that adorn the body, numerous interior and exterior pockets, and a patina that develops over time, giving it a timeless quality. Its practicality and maximalist design made it a symbol of the era and a reflection of the brand’s innovative approach to fashion.

To reimagine “Le City” line, Balenciaga delved into its archives, studying and remodeling numerous City styles. The brand’s designers hand-assembled each bag using 25 panels, ensuring the dimensions of the exterior and interior layers remained faithful to the original design. By preserving the bag’s defining features and incorporating sustainable production techniques, Balenciaga has successfully recreated the essence of the iconic Le City bag.

To commemorate the launch of the Le City bag, Balenciaga enlisted fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti to capture a series of portraits. The campaign features a diverse cast of talent, including British fashion icon Kate Moss, Danish model Mona Tougaard, Chinese actress and singer Yang Chaoyue, and Korean singer Juyeon. Each talent’s individuality and unique style are showcased against a striking grey backdrop, creating visually stunning images and videos.
