Based out of London, if you haven’t seen the innovative prints and graphic silhouettes from Katie Ann McGuigan, we can’t wait for you to get familiar, because this is a designer that knows good fashion. Working with both Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs, McGuigan has a wide range of design influences and aesthetics pulsing throughout her collections. Most particularly, she takes the majority of her inspiration from subcultures. Some of these subcultures have included 1970s footballers and Japanese biker women. Clearly, she’s not afraid to venture into uncharted territory. Just take a look through her Autumn/Winter ‘19 collection for a sense of how this all comes together. In this collection, we find bold and vibrant colors; mixed with a variety of fabrics like leather, nylon, and chiffon; neon embroidery; traditional plaid; and even psychedelic tie-dye. And yes, while these various styles, colors, and prints might seem like a bit much on paper, that’s actually the beauty of them. They don’t seem to go together, and they’re certainly not your traditional styles and designs, but once you see them in action, you can’t help but fall in love. See all these eye-popping looks for yourself, and just watch as you quickly come to discover the beauty of the bold stylings of Katie Ann McGuigan.
