We stumbled upon the soft, blurred smokey eye makeup and instantly fell in love. The traditional smokey eye is known for its dark, romantic, and sultry appeal, making it an iconic beauty look. However, its intensity often makes it less suitable for daytime wear. This softer take has the same captivating appeal but is much more approachable for everyday. From achieving bronzed, sculpted skin to mesmerizing eyes, we’ll walk you through creating this blurred smokey eye in just a few simple steps.

To achieve this look, start by applying a primer all over your face to ensure your makeup lasts all day. For a bronzed effect, mix a few drops of Westman Atelier Illuminator drops with your favorite foundation. Conceal any dark spots or blemishes with a high-coverage concealer and set your under eyes with pressed powder. Next, contour your face using a bronzer stick, applying it to the temples, cheekbones, jawline, and nose bridge, then blend with a makeup sponge.

For the eyes, use a strong-holding gel to sculpt and set your brows in place. Stick to matte eyeshadows for a daytime-friendly look. Apply a matte brown shade all over your lids and blend into the crease. Use a slightly darker brown in the outer corner, blending outwards and upwards, and apply the excess into the crease. Smoke out the lower lid with the same eyeshadow. Create a cat-eye flick with a waterproof brown eyeliner pencil, extending it all the way into the inner lid and adding it to the lower waterline. Finish with a lengthening mascara.

Complete your look with a complementary lip. Use a brown lip liner to slightly overline your lips, then soften the edges with your fingers or a brush. Finish with a natural lipstick shade in the middle for a blurred effect.

This soft, blurred smokey eye is perfect for those days when you want to elevate your everyday makeup!
