On Wednesday, March 1, it was officially announced that Fenty will be returning to Puma. Of course, this follows Rihanna’s already momentous year in which she headlined the Super Bowl and announced her second pregnancy with partner, A$AP Rocky. In a teaser post, Arne Freudant (Chief Executive Officer at Puma) shared an image on Instagram that simply read “She’s Back” along with the Fenty x Puma logos.
We’re sure everyone can recall what a smashing success the Fenty x Puma collection was beforehand. Back in 2015, the duo released the Creeper sneaker and they collectively sold out in three hours. Upon the announcement, there were already fans begging in the comment section to bring this beloved shoe back along with the fur and bow-adorned slides.
The relationship between Rihanna and Puma started back in 2014 when she was brought on as creative director. She even put on two runway shows during New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. Her last collection with the activewear brand was in 2017. You could say this was a precursor for her Fenty x Beauty and Fenty x Savage brands that arrived that same year.
Needless to say, this continues to be quite the year for the music and fashion mogul. We eagerly await to see what Fenty x Puma has in store for us (and our wallets). Will fans get the Creeper 2.0 that they have been waiting for? Only time will tell.
