While Carhartt WIP is best known for durable utility wear, they are no strangers to high fashion. The brand has been coveted by street style enthusiasts and hypebeasts for quite some time. But now, they have reached new heights with a newly debuted collection with Marni. This collaboration was first teased last year but it is finally coming to fruition this week.
The Marni x Carhartt WIP collection reworks the classic workwear pieces that are beloved by many. The Active Jacket, OG Chore Coat, and Single Knee Pant are just a few of the signature pieces that have gotten reinvented. Bringing to the table what they do best, Marni has added their spin by introducing flashy colorways. Additionally, you can expect to see their signature flower print emblazoned on everything from outerwear to bucket hats. There will also be a pair of slip-on sneakers, with equal touches from both brands evident. The sneakers feature the clover pattern, as well as a chunky sole for added height and interest.
The two brands have enlisted Bootsy Collins, his wife, his grandson, and fellow musician, Babyxsosa to showcase the pieces. The campaign images show them modeling the pieces in Bootsy Collin’s very own Cincinnati home.
Marni x Carhartt WIP will be released on January 14 in Carhartt WIP flagship stores, in Marni retailers, on Marni.com, as well as a few select retailers. For those in Japan, the collab will be made available to shop on January 25.
