Theo Kusuma and Mol Edrin, friends from Indonesia, started the clothing brand Devá States in 2015. The Sanskrit word for “divine” or “anything of excellence” is at the heart of the company, which combines Jakarta street style, typography, and a sci-fi vibe. Their designs range from punk rock to horror movie references to wabi-sabi, a Japanese concept celebrating imperfection. Cotton jersey shirts and track pants are given a unique twist with bright text and graphics. The retro-futuristic designs make Devá States’ clothing stand out from the crowd.
