Central Saint Martins MA graduates Stefan Cooke and his partner Jake Burt have taken a bold approach to luxury menswear by infusing British heritage design with a modern twist. Their London-based fashion house, named after Cooke himself, combines meticulous technique with innovative ideas to elevate ordinary wardrobe staples into extraordinary pieces. While their clothing may initially seem like classic styles, a closer look reveals clever trompe l’oeil prints of argyle and check patterns on stretchy fabrics, mimicking the appearance of traditional wool sweaters, turtlenecks, cotton trousers, and tailored coats. Cooke gained valuable experience working with renowned designers such as Walter Van Beirendonck, Craig Green, and John Galliano, and has received recognition for his talents with awards such as the H&M Design Award in 2018 and L’Oréal Professionnel Creative Award in 2017, which have helped him establish his own eponymous label. Meanwhile, Burt brings his expertise in creating exquisite silhouettes to the brand’s sophisticated aesthetic, with a focus on accentuating the male form through flattering cuts.
