AREA Fall 2026 puts the party on stage. In his second season as creative director, Nicholas Aburn sharpened the brand’s after dark identity during New York Fashion Week, leaning into glamour as both fantasy and control. Aburn framed the collection around words like fun and magic, then pushed them further into something with bite. The show kept AREA’s high shine DNA intact while stretching it into stranger territory. Denim jackets cinched with giant belts twisted into bows. Rugby sweaters hung long and slouched over the shoulder, stretched past the hip. Aburn spoke about taking up space, and the silhouettes did exactly that, sometimes to the point of absurdity. There were backward lamé party dresses trimmed in ruffles, tiny polos flipped around, and miniskirts cut short and sharp. Experimental cocktail shakers appeared in hand, while gowns built with what he described as ostrich feathers were actually pieced from vintage T-shirts.
