Product Insights & Style Tips
The YAKU Black 7-Poc Denim Shorts are the epitome of edgy sophistication with a utilitarian twist. Imbued with a garment-dyed finish, these non-stretch denim shorts flaunt a rich, inky hue that reads as both distinctly urban and unapologetically cool. The white contrast stitching adds a sharp, graphic element, slicing through the black with an architectural precision that mirrors the cityscape at night. This is denim, reimagined not just as a staple but as a statement.
What sets these shorts apart is their intricate detailing that feels both artful and intuitive. The seven-pocket styling provides a structured way to keep essentials on hand without compromising on sleekness. Belt loops and a zip-fly complete the construction, while a press-stud panel and thoughtful patch pocket add layers of intrigue and utility. The fit is relaxed enough to flatter without constricting, making these standout pieces that transition effortlessly from day into night. Ideal for layering, they pair effortlessly with oversized blazers or cropped tops, steering the look between casual and elevated.
YAKU, known for pushing boundaries with their innovative designs, embeds these shorts with a blend of industrial finesse and street-smart energy. About YAKU
Yaku Stapleton, a graduate from Central Saint Martins, utilizes his eponymous label YAKU to serve as a platform for innovative expression. The British designer, with roots in Jamaica and St. Vincent, was recently honored with the 2023 L'Oréal Pro Prize for his creative master's collection. This collection was inspired by the designer's vision of what his family clan would wear in a parallel universe. Drawing from elements of Afrofuturism and unfamiliar fauna, the line's ethereal garments possess a fantastical quality that could easily belong in a high-end fashion-themed role-playing game. Embracing techniques from sculpture and costume design, YAKU transforms reality with its avant-garde ready-to-wear pieces.
