In 2014, designer and founder of Saylor, Jillian Shatken, booked a trip to Los Angeles following an unexpected lay off from her job. While in LA, Jillian was incredibly inspired by the emerging female-centric fashion scene in which female creatives and entrepreneurs were running their own successful companies and brands.
“It felt like the beginning of something important, and was truly eye-opening.”
– Jillian Shatken
With nothing more than a small savings account, some rough sketches, a supportive business partner and whole lot of ambition, Jillian created her bohemian-inspired clothing line, Saylor. Fast forward to 5 years later, Saylor has now quadrupled in size and is sold by over 450 retailers. With May 7th marking the 5th year anniversary, Jillian Shatken now counts herself as part of the women who inspired her back in 2014.
“Woman are no longer viewed as enigmas or outliers, but accepted as leaders, innovators and disruptors” – Jillian
Saylor’s newest collection is all about celebrating that subtle but significant deviation, honoring the momentum by commemorating and empowering woman through beautiful, feminine design that encourages personal style. In addition to celebrating it’s 5th year mark, Saylor has also taken a stand on moving towards more sustainable practices, designing one clothing group per month in a sustainable textile.
