A smoky eye is our foolproof choice when we want a makeup look that accentuates our inner confidence. This soft glam effect strikes the perfect balance between sultry and playful. Recently, a new variation has emerged, adding an unexpected twist to this iconic style… Enter the double-winged eyeliner effect. Although it doesn’t take much more effort than your standard winged liner or smokey eye makeup, the outcome is truly captivating. If you’re eager to make a statement and turn heads wherever you go, perfecting the double-winged eyeliner is a must.
While this makeup trend can be recreated with a liquid liner, a pencil and eyeshadow combination is way more delicate and suitable for everyday. After applying eyeshadow primer, sweep a matte brown eyeshadow all over the lids, blending up towards your crease. With a waterproof black eyeliner pencil, you’re going to carefully tightline both your upper and lower waterline. Now, it’s time for the main event. Using an angled brush, dip this into a black eyeshadow and draw a wing. Repeat on the lower lash line so both lines are parallel to one another.
Et voila! Believe it or not, but that’s all there is to the double winged eyeliner look. It looks significantly more complicated than it actually is. As a few final touches, you can curl your lashes and coat them with your favorite mascara. Although optional, we highly recommend you finish off with a setting spray to ensure the double winged effect doesn’t smudge throughout the night.
