Vetements, the Swiss fashion brand known for its avant-garde designs and oversized silhouettes, made waves once again with its Fall Winter 2024 Collection. Led by Demna and Guram Gvasalia, the brand presented a show that was big, bigger, and biggest in every aspect. The show was a spectacle of gargantuan tailoring with ramrod pool-noodle shoulders. The models strutted down the runway in tight tanks and mega jeans with pant legs that seemed to drag on endlessly. The oversized garments made a bold statement, challenging the conventional notions of proportion and pushing the boundaries of what is considered fashionable.
The Vetements Fall Winter 2024 Collection was not just about oversized garments; it also brought a touch of humor. Throughout the show, the audience was treated to visual jokes, such as a Donatella Versace lookalike and the “South Park” stoner character Towlie fronting a sweatshirt. Additionally, the collection featured a collaboration with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, who brought his iconic teddy-bear coats to life in Vetements’ bombastic style.
