The Vibe :
⊹ Rebecca Hall stars in a psychological thriller trailer titled Anonymity.
⊹ Her character keeps encountering a masked double dressed just like her.
⊹ Artisanal masks from Maison Margiela’s Fall 2026 Shanghai show return for the film.
⊹ A bleeding television, ghostly figures and clear goo push the campaign firmly into horror territory.
Maison Margiela is skipping the standard campaign film and giving Rebecca Hall a psychological thriller instead. Titled Anonymity, the two-minute trailer follows Hall as an actress preparing for a role while repeatedly coming face-to-face with a masked version of herself. The mood gets creepy fast: a television appears to bleed, clear goo spills from Hall’s mouth and ghostly figures emerge from closets. Think fashion campaign by way of a very late-night movie.

The double is dressed to match Hall, but the face changes through one-off Artisanal masks created for the house’s Fall 2026 show in Shanghai. The clothes get their own strange treatment too, with Second Skin fused over Edwardian tailoring, tapestry covering a shift dress and Bianchetto coating a plunging gown. It is the kind of uncanny styling that makes Maison Margiela feel right at home inside a plot about identity going slightly sideways.

Hall was into the cinematic references, citing Dario Argento, Brian De Palma and David Lynch as touchpoints she recognized in the project. Director Thibaut Grevet keeps that unease running through the trailer while the actress and her double circle each other without ever fully resolving who is who.
