The Vibe :

⊹ Marques’Almeida makes its Milan Fashion Week debut with a Spring 2027 collection centered on undone occasionwear.

⊹ Taffeta peplum tops, barrel-leg trousers and dramatic ruffles bring unexpected proportions to party dressing.

⊹ Silver sequins, silk trains and asymmetric dresses give eveningwear a less conventional attitude.

⊹ Plaid checks, military green separates and chunky platform sneakers keep the label’s grunge roots intact.

Marques’Almeida brought its signature grunge attitude to Milan Fashion Week for Spring 2027, making its debut in the Italian fashion capital with a collection that puts party dressing in a different light. Designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida have been experimenting with occasionwear, but they’re not abandoning the undone aesthetic that made their label a favorite among London’s fashion crowd. Taffeta tops came with exaggerated peplums and barrel-leg trousers, while handkerchief dresses featured angular side panels and cargo miniskirts trailed long panels of velvety silk.

The dressier pieces had plenty of personality. Shantung sundresses featured oversized ruffles, silver sequins covered evening trousers, and bias-cut dresses came with dramatic draping and irregular hemlines. Bows erupted from shoulders, while lace tailoring and jacquard fabrics introduced another layer of decoration. Yet the styling never felt overly polished. A floor-length slipdress appeared with chunky platform sneakers, and scarf-like tops were wrapped around the torso over flowing silk dresses.

The brand’s East London roots remained visible through offbeat plaid dresses, military green bustiers worn with baggy trousers and fitted Lycra bodysuits paired with balloon skirts. Denim also returned in draped dresses and garment-dyed pieces, keeping a familiar part of the label’s identity in the picture. Even the more elaborate looks, including those finished with ostrich feathers, had something slightly rebellious about them. It’s partywear for someone who would rather arrive a little undone than perfectly put together.

About The Author

  • Author - Andrea

From fashion and beauty to health and wellness, she enjoys sharing and connecting on the topics that help to make our everyday lives just a bit brighter. If you don't find her behind her laptop writing her latest article, you'll also find her walking her dog, whipping up a new recipe, or scouring the mall for the latest trends.

Andrea's experience in fashion began after graduating from the Fashion Marketing and Merchandising program from the Academy of Design in Toronto, ON. She broke out into the competitive world of fashion by launching her own online boutique, selling women's clothing and accessories. From there, very quickly, she discovered online selling was not for her. She now prefers to stay behind the computer, chatting about fashion in a written format that still allows her to connect with fellow style enthusiasts.

And, since then, she has never looked back, writing for independent magazines, small businesses, and everything in between. Andrea now also occasionally writes for companies and brands outside the fashion and beauty industry, but at the end of the day, her heart remains loyal to what she knows best—great fashion.
