The Vibe Is…
• Art-driven minimalism inspired by Kazimir Malevich
• Ukrainian resilience expressed through fashion and symbolism
• Chic geometry that feels modern, wearable, and fluid
For Spring 2026, Svitlana Bevza takes the square out of its rigid box and turns it into a bold yet elegant expression of identity. Staged inside a sunlit industrial loft in West Chelsea, her runway drew from Kazimir Malevich’s avant-garde geometry while grounding itself in modern minimalism. Bevza finds ways to stretch, fold, and transform a simple square into something fluid and charged with meaning, leaving behind any trace of rigidity and instead creating a new kind of softness rooted in form.

The Kyiv-born painter known for his Suprematist square is the creative starting point for Bevza this season. Malevich, whom Bevza refers to as “a father of modernism,” gives her a conceptual structure while allowing room for play. Black, white, butter yellow, and carrot red shade the lineup, each color shaping silhouettes that move between strict geometry and wearable ease. Whether a square top that doubles as a skirt or angular crepe pieces that fold neatly across the body, the collection proves that geometry can be sensual, modern, and emotionally resonant.

Bevza’s minimalism thrives in details that feel purposeful without excess. Crepe viscose skirts wrap with zippers that circle the body, jersey dresses drape with a whisper of Hussein Chalayan’s influence, and bamboo jersey tops bring stretch and ease. The clothes move with the body instead of resisting it. Accessories carry weight too. The wheatsheaf motif, appearing in jewelry and even a face mask, serves as both ornament and cultural symbol, a nod to resilience and remembrance for Ukrainians dispersed across the globe.
