The Vibe :
⊹ “Traces of Time” gives men’s and women’s tailoring a deliberately worn-in character.
⊹ Crumpled linen, distressed denim and navy-and-white tie-dye introduce a bohemian ’70s mood.
⊹ Salt-inspired crystal embroidery and unraveling cotton knits make texture the main attraction.
Emporio Armani Spring 2027 makes a persuasive argument for leaving a few creases in. Titled “Traces of Time,” the men’s and women’s collection by Leo Dell’Orco and Silvana Armani treats wrinkles, fading and fraying as part of getting dressed. Presented on mannequins at Milan’s Armani/Teatro, it invited guests to get close to the fabrics. That format suited Emporio Armani’s clothing this season: the attraction was in how familiar tailoring could look softened by years of wear.

Jackets in crumpled linen and seersucker were tied with fabric belts, then layered over sheer tanks and slouchy waistcoats. Lightweight distressed cotton denim appeared in dark topcoats and trousers, while navy-and-white tie-dye gave jacket-and-trouser combinations a bohemian ’70s mood. White, green, gray, greige and black kept the palette grounded as the surfaces became more expressive. These were dressed-up pieces with enough looseness to suggest a day that might stray well beyond its original plans.

The embellishments took their cues from nature. A relaxed bomber carried crystal embroidery resembling salt formations, while a loose cotton knit unraveled at the seams and trailed threads across its front. Elsewhere, washed patterns recalled marble veining, and fern jacquards suggested fossil impressions. Those details gave the collection’s timeworn theme a precise visual language. Rather than relying on dramatic color, the clothes drew attention through creases, irregular patterns and flashes of crystal against distressed fabric.
