Dr. Martens Brings Chloë Sevigny, Cherry Red Leather and Plenty of Personality Into Fall

The Vibe :

⊹ Chloë Sevigny, Jordan Stephens and Naomi Watanabe bring personal perspective to “With Bouncing Soles.”

⊹ Five familiar footwear styles return in Crazy Horse leather, including a new Cherry Red finish.

⊹ Sevigny favors the 8065 Mary Jane, while Stephens and Watanabe champion lace-up classics.

Chloë Sevigny and Dr. Martens make a convincing pair, especially when Mary Janes enter the conversation. The actor joins musician and writer Jordan Stephens, comedian Naomi Watanabe and rapper Ledbyher for the brand’s Fall 2026 “With Bouncing Soles” campaign. Taking its name from the words on the 1460 boot’s heel loop, the project asks what keeps its cast inspired. For Dr. Martens, that means putting familiar shoes in the company of people with very individual tastes.

The footwear gives those personalities plenty to work with. The Crazy Horse Icons collection spans the 1460 boot, 1461 shoe, Adrian loafer, 2976 Chelsea boot and 8065 Mary Jane, with a new Cherry Red finish joining the lineup. Crazy Horse leather is treated with oils and waxes that help it develop a distinctive patina over time. That changing surface is part of the attraction: these are shoes whose appearance becomes more personal as they accumulate wear.

Sevigny names the 8065 Mary Jane as her chosen Docs, Stephens gravitates toward the 1461 shoe, and Watanabe favors the 1460 boot. Their accompanying stories move through vintage finds, writing and the connection between a comedian and an audience. The campaign gives each person room to explain what draws them forward, using three different footwear favorites to show how much personality can live within a familiar design.

Brand DNA

Born from a utilitarian work boot in 1960, Dr. Martens became a subcultural icon through sturdy leather, yellow welt stitching, air-cushioned soles, and silhouettes adopted by punks, musicians, and generations of rule-breakers.

If you don't find her behind her laptop writing her latest article, you'll also find her walking her dog, whipping up a new recipe, or scouring the mall for the latest trends.

Andrea's experience in fashion began after graduating from the Fashion Marketing and Merchandising program from the Academy of Design in Toronto, ON. She broke out into the competitive world of fashion by launching her own online boutique, selling women's clothing and accessories. From there, very quickly, she discovered online selling was not for her. She now prefers to stay behind the computer, chatting about fashion in a written format that still allows her to connect with fellow style enthusiasts.

And, since then, she has never looked back, writing for independent magazines, small businesses, and everything in between. Andrea now also occasionally writes for companies and brands outside the fashion and beauty industry, but at the end of the day, her heart remains loyal to what she knows best—great fashion.
