⊹ Cobalt blues and sandy neutrals meet animal-patterned orchids, raffia bags and woven leather shoes.
Genny Spring 2027 has already checked out of the office. At Milan Fashion Week, Sara Cavazza Facchini sent the brand’s romantic wardrobe on a desert escape, trading some of its formality for sheer layers and a bohemian attitude. Called “The Queen of the Desert,” the collection made vacation dressing its most tempting proposition. Kaftans trailed behind their wearers, handkerchief tops met low-rise pants layered in chiffon, and embroidered georgette bloomers gave the lineup a playful, lingerie-adjacent turn.

Color did plenty of the work. Cobalt and pale blues interrupted sandy neutrals and washed pastels, with warmer red and paprika tones extending the desert reference. Genny’s signature orchid also loosened up, appearing in prints that mixed animal motifs with watercolor effects. Jackets became as light as shirts, while scarf-inspired tops and dresses let fabric fall around the body. These were the pieces that made the collection’s getaway mood feel useful: enough detail to carry an outfit, with movement built into the clothes.

The accessories kept that direction going through raffia bags decorated with orchids and woven leather mules and slingbacks. Eveningwear, meanwhile, held onto Facchini’s taste for fantasy. Micro-pleated balloon minidresses came with boned, petal-shaped bodices; tulle gowns expanded into billowing volumes; and corseted dresses took floral forms. That extra ceremony created a noticeable change of pace after the floating separates. For a summer suitcase, the chiffon layers and lighter tailoring make the more persuasive packing list.
