The Vibe :
⊹ Stephanie Suberville stages Heirlome’s first runway show.
⊹ The collection honors Oaxacan artists Angélico and Mariacarmen Jimenez.
⊹ Psychedelic prints, dense knits and carved pendants supply the texture.
⊹ Denim joins the wardrobe for the first time.
Heirlome’s first runway show started with a story bigger than the runway itself. Stephanie Suberville dedicated Spring 2027 to Oaxacan artist Mariacarmen Jimenez and her late father, Angélico, whose carved wooden creatures first inspired prints for the brand in 2024. This season, father and daughter effectively share the clothes: their motifs appear together across layered shirts and a psychedelic caftan, turning family history into one of the collection’s most personal threads.

The clothes move between pared-back tailoring and pieces loaded with texture. Knits woven by a Bolivian women’s collective become thick, fuzzy surfaces, while tassels bounce across dresses and Mariacarmen’s miniature carvings appear as colorful pendants. Boxy shapes nod to the huipil, and draped silk separates offer a cleaner counterpoint. That push and pull already feels familiar across Heirlome, where fluid dresses, tailored separates and richly worked pieces share the same wardrobe.

Spring also introduces denim after Suberville noticed customers styling Heirlome’s evening tops with jeans. The new options include puddling jeans with sharp creases and a drop-waist circle skirt traced with cage-like topstitching, all made using cotton sourced in Mexico. A chocolate leather trench and short double-breasted suit provide additional structure, giving the more elaborate pieces something simpler to play against. For a runway debut, Heirlome arrives with plenty to say.
