The Vibe :

⊹ Late ’90s dressing filtered through lace, satin and sharply cut separates

⊹ Lingerie references meet capri pants and tuxedo-inspired shirting

⊹ Zebra print breaks up a mostly neutral color palette

⊹ Day-to-night styling that refuses to pick one personality

H&M and Brazilian creator Lívia Nunes Marques are turning contradictory dressing into the main event. Landing online July 23, the 20-piece limited-edition collaboration moves between lingerie references, late ’90s tailoring and oversized accessories without settling into one fixed aesthetic. Lace, satin and chiffon bring the sensual side, while cropped trousers, a pencil skirt and tuxedo-inspired shirting give the lineup a sharper counterpoint.

The dresses carry much of the drama, including a black maxi with cutouts, a dark brown chiffon halter and satin slips trimmed in lace. A Guipure lace top and maxi skirt push the underwear-as-outerwear idea further, while capri pants and balloon-leg trousers keep the styling from becoming overly romantic. That tension also gives the pieces more range alongside the current appetite for lace-trimmed dresses and lingerie-inspired tops.

Accessories make sure the neutrals never become too polite. An oversized zebra-print shoulder bag, black pearl-effect jewelry, shield sunglasses and a Guipure lace headscarf bring the oddball punctuation Lívia’s personal style calls for. White, beige, gray and black dominate, with small flashes of pink and pale blue. It’s less about building one coordinated wardrobe and more about giving each outfit a deliberate clash, whether that means satin with wool tailoring or lace worn against graphic animal print.
