Jonathan Anderson is taking some weight off Dior for Summer 2027. Presented in Paris, the 65-look collection turns tailoring softer and more fluid, with lace, silk mousseline and organza moving between transparency and opacity. The house describes air almost like another material here, which tracks with the way jackets, skirts and dresses seem built to shift once they hit the body. Dior signatures are still there, just loosened up for summer.
That softer treatment reaches some of the house’s most recognizable codes. Bar jackets lose their usual stiffness, houndstooth appears in sheer chiffon and the 1952 La Cigale dress returns in pink pleated tulle. Hand-cut petals cover jackets and miniskirts, while bronze, silver and mint-green trousers break up the black, white and gray palette. The Saddle bag comes back too, giving the lineup another familiar reference point without making the collection feel trapped in archive mode.
The front row picked up that romantic energy in two very different ways. JISOO arrived in a crisp white blouse with a voluminous pink skirt, while WONYOUNG went for pale lace, sheer black layers and a baby-pink Dior bag. Both looks played neatly against Anderson’s lighter direction, where prettiness gets slightly undone rather than polished into perfection.
The setting pushed that idea even further. Dior returned to the Bassin Octogonal in the Jardin des Tuileries, with seating wrapped around the water as mist moved across the runway. Backstage, the beauty followed the same less-finished mood with salty waves, silver eye details, glossy skin and mismatched red-toned nails. Anderson described Summer 2027 in terms of lightness, motion and what happens once a garment meets the breeze — and the collection works best when it looks like it might keep changing after the model has already walked past.
