The Vibe :
⊹ Johnson Hartig marks Libertine’s 25th anniversary by leaning into the decoration that built the label.
⊹ Giant paillette butterflies, sequins, feathers and dense embroidery cover the collection.
⊹ Garden references appear through topiary, flowers and a Tree of Life motif.
⊹ A sequined “25” jersey and shorts close the show with the most literal anniversary nod.
Libertine turns 25 this season, and Johnson Hartig is celebrating by doing more of exactly what made the label recognizable in the first place. Spring 2027 piles on giant paillette butterflies, sequins, feathers and embroidery across suits, dresses and separates, while ivory-and-white stripes and Bloomsbury patchwork on linen break up some of the heavier decoration. It is maximalism with no interest in behaving.

The garden theme shows up everywhere. A topiary coat is hand-embroidered with double boxwood set inside Versailles-style boxes, while another statement piece pulls its Tree of Life motif from a historic carpet. Hartig also turns his own paint-splattered drop cloths into prints for workwear-like jumpsuits, some finished with clear sequins that catch the light. Across Libertine, decoration has always been the main event, and Spring 2027 treats that as an asset rather than something to edit down.

The anniversary itself stays mostly in the background until the finale. A basketball-inspired jersey and shorts arrive with a red sequined “25” as “Happy Birthday” plays, ending a collection that otherwise looks forward by doubling down on Hartig’s favorite signatures.
