Jason Wu is giving the lace bra a proper place in the outfit. For Jason Wu Collection Spring 2027, transparent organza tops reveal delicately embellished lingerie, setting up a wardrobe where romance comes with a little exposure. Called “Salon,” the collection was presented through individual appointments as Wu took a year away from runway shows to spend more time with family in Taiwan. His aim was to bring the clothes shown to editors closer to what customers will actually find in stores.
That thinking starts with recognizable daywear. An ivory lace T-shirt dresses up the simplest shape, while lace-trimmed cardigans offer another way to wear the detail beyond evening. A black shirtdress combines a half-pleated skirt with raw hems, giving its otherwise familiar proportions an unfinished edge. Wu carries that slight deconstruction into a strappy dress with lace attached at the side seam, extending beyond the garment to frame the body. The prettiness has room to come a little undone.
Black and white organza tops keep the layering transparent, while shiny floral-embroidered bustiers and corset dresses give the collection a more structured counterpoint. Wu used seven different fabrications, including silk and nylon, for those floral pieces. Eveningwear brings more elaborate embellishment to Kelly green and black dresses, building on the same appetite for decorative surfaces seen in the lace daywear. The designer plans to return to the runway in 2027 for his label’s 20th anniversary.
