The Vibe :
⊹ Catherine Holstein pushes Khaite further into romance for Spring 2027.
⊹ Handmade corsetry, antique lingerie references and floral embroidery lead the softer mood.
⊹ Shrunken leather jackets keep the sweetness from taking over completely.
⊹ Venice’s Gritti Palace provides an early spark for the season.
Khaite Spring 2027 has romance on the brain. Catherine Holstein opened with Kaia Gerber in a white bra and ultra-fitted leather skirt, its split back revealing handmade corsetry underneath. From there came exposed bras, slips, nightie-like dresses and minidresses slipping off the shoulders, pulling from lingerie shapes spanning the 1920s through the ’40s. Even the undone bedhead pushed the runway further away from anything too polished.

There is plenty happening beneath the surface, too. Hand embroidery appears across floral dresses, while crinoline becomes narrow belts and waved hems that lift sheer shirts and flounced skirts. Venice also enters the picture through the Gritti Palace, whose interiors inspired embroidered bib details and decorative cutouts. The romantic streak feels especially fresh against the sharper pieces available across Khaite, where leather, denim and leaner separates already carry plenty of New York bite.

Holstein does not abandon leather, though — she shrinks it. Cropped jackets arrive with high shoulders and tighter proportions as the designer moves away from the oversized shapes that have defined recent seasons. That contrast keeps the lace, pastel shifts and sheer layers from getting overly sweet. Spring 2027 ends up somewhere between antique lingerie and downtown after dark, with the smaller proportions making even familiar Khaite signatures feel newly charged.
