Mugler is turning power dressing into a psychological game for FW26. Titled “The Commander,” the new campaign stars Vivian Jenna Wilson inside a series of surreal scenes where authority never stays in one place for long. She commands, watches, obeys and refuses, pushing the idea of control into something much less predictable. It is exactly the kind of tension Miguel Castro Freitas has been building into his version of Mugler, where tailoring and sex appeal rarely play by separate rules.

The campaign serves as the second chapter in Castro Freitas’ Trilogy of Glorified Clichés, his ongoing look at the archetypes tied to the house. This time, the target is power dressing. Tailored shapes, sensual lines and exaggerated proportions turn familiar symbols of authority into something more theatrical, while Wilson moves between dominant and vulnerable roles rather than sticking to one fixed character.

That idea picks up directly from Mugler Fall 2026, where pinstriped tailoring, military references, leather and longer coats gave the runway its harder edge. “The Commander” takes those clothes out of the show setting and pushes them into a darker narrative about who is looking, who is obeying and who decides when the rules stop mattering. The collection is scheduled to arrive in October 2026.
