Spell Adventure Club x Elsa Pataky sends the Australian label’s free-spirited wardrobe somewhere considerably muddier. Pataky joined the brand as co-designer for the second Adventure Club collection, pulling from her life around horses, family and the Byron Bay outdoors. Rugged anoraks, cargo pants, track shorts and heavy knits now share space with the printed dresses and barely-there tops more commonly associated with Spell.
The Wild and Free Anorak Jacket and matching cargo pieces handle the practical end of the lineup, while the Libre Hoodie, Seven Mile Knit Jumper and Firefly cable knits make layering look less like preparation and more like styling. Pataky’s influence appears in smaller details too. The 1976 Singlet references her birth year, and Spanish-language patches nod to a phrase she carries as a tattoo. These touches stop the collaboration from reading like a celebrity name placed over somebody else’s wardrobe.
Spell hasn’t abandoned the clothes that built its following. The Sunwashed Mini Dress, Cristina Shirt and Elsa Cropped Blouse bring airy fabric and faded color back into the picture, while the Sierra corset and tiny bloomers push the styling toward something more unruly. Chunky boots, pom-pom socks and utility layers keep the sweetness from drifting too far into familiar festival territory.
