Adam Lippes Spring 2027 goes back to prep, just without the country-club stiffness. Twenty years after launching his label, Lippes revisits the khaki, navy, white, pinstripes and tennis references that shaped his earliest work, then swaps the expected fabrics for something far more surprising. Classic shirting comes in waterproof silk, plaid turns translucent in organza, and a 1920s Newport tennis dress is reworked in shimmering netting.
Fabric does most of the showing off. Featherweight silk shantung has the float of parachute cloth, an unlined jacket is finished with French seams and linen-silk suiting took multiple seasons to get right. A tan waterproof-silk bomber hides tonal plaid inside, while a net slip dress is covered in micro Swarovski crystals. Across Adam Lippes, that attention to material has long mattered as much as the silhouette, and Spring 2027 makes it impossible to miss.
The proportions loosen up too. Wide trousers pool or gather at the ankle, skirts billow away from the body and jackets get shorter and closer through the torso. Red silk-taffeta running shorts slip into the prep story alongside boyish tailoring, while black lace and flowing balloon pants take the collection into evening.
